Paige Burk

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Master of Arts in Social Work
Psychotherapist

Paige is passionate about helping individuals better understand their emotions and experiences in order to expand their capacity to connect, heal, and grow. She uses warmth and authenticity to create an affirming and nonjudgmental space to unpack all the messy, painful, beautiful, and absurd aspects of life. She views herself as a collaborative thought partner, helping people explore new perspectives and possibilities, challenge oppressive narratives and systems, and use their strengths to live more intentionally.

Using a holistic and integrative approach, she strives to walk alongside individuals with curiosity, empathy, cultural humility, and humor. Her areas of expertise include:

  • Perinatal Mental Health: Supporting individuals navigating challenges related to pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, infertility, and pregnancy loss. Paige helps people manage stressors and grieve losses that can come during the reproductive journey, as well as process past wounds that parenthood can trigger.

  • Acute and Complex Trauma: Helping individuals working to heal from isolated traumatic events, chronically stressful environments, or developmental trauma from childhood. She is skilled at helping people explore how they have adapted in past environments and relationships to determine which adaptations are still useful and which would be helpful to change.

  • Adolescent Mental Health: Supporting teenagers dealing with depression and anxiety, peer or family relational challenges, or questions about identity. Paige has extensive experience working with adolescents in a variety of settings.

  • Group Therapy: Paige also enjoys facilitating support groups, recognizing the unique power of the group to help participants find validation and connection. She has led support groups for new parents as well as psychoeducational groups for survivors of trauma.

Paige earned her Master of Arts in Social Work from the University of Chicago, Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice. Prior to joining LifePath, she worked with adolescents, young adults, and families navigating challenges related to depression, suicidal ideation, relational conflict, gender and sexuality, etc. She also has experience in secondary education and higher education settings.

Core beliefs:

  • Every person has an inherent ability to heal and grow when given the opportunity.

  • Lasting and transformative change comes through attending to the whole person—the mind, body, spirit, family system, community, etc.

  • Fred Rogers sums it up well: “Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”
