Welcome to Unlocking Desire
Helping Clients Navigate Desire Discrepancy and Low Libido! Join us for an experiential and engaging workshop led by Rachel Zaar, where we will explore practical approaches to support individuals and couples. Don’t miss this opportunity to join us in conversation, build your skills, and expand your knowledge in this important area of sexual health! We believe pleasure is for all people, and this workshop integrates a trauma informed and sex-inclusive approach.
Objectives
1. Participants will be able to identify and differentiate between psychological, relational, and physiological factors contributing to low libido and desire discrepancy in individuals and couples.
2. Participants will increase their repertoire of interventions to effectively address low libido and desire discrepancy in therapy, including cognitive-behavioral, psychoeducation, and mindfulness techniques.
About Your Facilitator
Rachel Zar, PhD, LMFT, CST, (she/her/hers) is a couple and family therapist and an AASECT-certified sex therapist. She is currently a clinician and clinical supervisor at Avid Intimacy in Chicago.
She knows that sex and relationships can be among the most difficult topics to talk about, and she strives to create a safe, non-judgmental place for these intimate and essential conversations. Her primary focus is working with those experiencing sexual functioning issues including painful sex (vulvodynia, vaginismus, etc.), difficulty with or inability to orgasm, or low or diminished libido. She is trauma trained and informed, and she is an LGBTQ- and kink- affirmative clinician.
